Books
“Why is a raven like a writing desk?” - Mad Hatter, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”
The most mind-boggling question in history, if you ask me. And even after 10 years, I still don’t have the answer to this question.
I remember reading this book when I was very young — it was a version catered to children. With as much curiosity and an adventurous spirit as Alice, my young self devoured this book within minutes of receiving it. In the palm of my hands, it was an escape from my childhood troubles of school assignments. Knowing I had a whole world in my hands felt powerful and empowering to me as a young person.
Fast-forward to my 20s and now, the story still embraces me with the same magic, imagination, and childlike wonder.
Books are my lovers, my friends, my lifelong companions, and my trusted teachers. They hold within them the power to change me, to break me, to hurt me, to make me feel emotions I have never felt ever before. My conversations with them are unique — they’re filled with a deafening silence broken by weird plot twists and character deaths. The words that flow through their mouth has no bounds — they can be nothing and everything all together.
Lifestyle
Many of us have experienced this shift within our lives — the need to convert your home space into a complete working environment probably influenced your lifestyle.
And to escape that tension, nature called me in.
Desk organization is all about catering to your lifestyle in an efficient, organized, and tidy manner. An artist would have their brushes and paints in plain view while a student would have their books stacked as closely to their main working space as possible. It all depends on your needs and your lifestyle.
